Rich KC2HZW on the roof of one of WECA'S retired TV Broadcast trucks. Rich is one of a large group of dedicated Ham Operators who built the Field Day site for WECA. Rich is the Chairman of the Field Day group and a finer leader no group could ask for. "HZW" is one of the most "Hands On" members that WECA has. He climbed on every truck and kept things operating smoothly all weekend long! In this shot he's adding the final touch to a large beam, the ARRL flag. Thanks Rich!
On Sunday December Fourteenth, 2008 The Yonkers Amateur Radio Club (YARC) held it's Christmas / Holiday Party at the first Police Precint meeting room. Now YARC may not be the biggest Ham club around, but we are by far the closest "Family" of Hams you will ever find. Here are some photos of our family members!
Every month, on the third Thursday the Yonkers Amateur Radio Club "Retired Guy's and Gals" (along with any of us that can get a couple of hours off) have lunch together. Far from being the social event of the year, we all have a great time. If your in the area of the diner on the hill of Jackson Ave. just off Central Park Avenue at noon.... stop in and say Hi!
On Sunday, June 7th, 2009 The Yonkers Amateur Radio club held it's monthly VE session. Is was a small group of test takers and only two passed the exam. Clark Williams and Michael Rapp, Jr. Both have also become new members of the club.
Once a year the club gets together for Field Day and this year Nancy KC2VGG along with her YM Mike KF2FK did lot's of work to put it together. Notice how Nancy got "Top Billing?" That's because she has a habit of raising her hand to help the club before the question of "who's gonna help" is asked! Many people contributed time and effort to make it a success, but I am taking WebMasters Liberty to thank her for all she does! We hope you enjoy YARC Field Day, we did.
